As a teenage apprentice tool and die maker I machined asbestos, but was never told about its hazards, or given protective equipment while working with it.  Many workers in Ontario are killed in the workplace, many more die from workplace exposure to hazardous materials when they are older.  There is a single day of mourning, nobody lines highways, there are no motorcades accompanied by police motorcycles, no flags flown at half staff. Last week there were riots in Belfast due to one incident involving a refugee, yet intimate partner violence is common there, but there are only occasiaonal protest demonstrations against this.]]></description>

This was my mom. She came out and built a life full of love, community and family. She passed away last year with people from all over coming to share their stories of her strength and how she helped them with their own struggles.]]></description>
