As well as my dear departed Mom’s (she had a bookcase in her kitchen).
My mom always said if she got one good recipe from a cook book it was worth the price. I agree.

Happily I inherited her cook books(with the lovely side bar notes) along with her notebooks with so many hand written recipes.

I don’t have Joy at hand here in Mexico but one excision I particularly miss in my Joy back home is her description of a particular orange cake as like an elephant with earrings.
