Thank you for this story. Even those that "think" we know what is happening out there, are still shocked when we finally see what is in front of our own eyes.
My sister - a domestic abuse survivor, is an example of how things are kept quiet. Her soon to be officially ex husband is a high school teacher and is currently facing criminal charges as well as a case in the family court. But yet, the principal at the school has no idea about his criminal background. I am sure parents would also be interested in knowing how abusive he is outside of the classroom. But here lies the trouble, we still don't talk about it. The courts encourage us to keep quiet and not disrupt the person's life until proven in court. What about her life, what about the abuse her children have endured? I now see clearly just how broken our system is and I am disappointed to say the very least. At least there are options for her to be able to take the time for court appearances, the long list of to do's to help make her case and to keep her job for her as she begins her new life as a single mom.

Thank you for writing this story, and I hope that others read and share with their network so we can start to speak up.
Thank you
