It’s more than a little galling to see the Federal Government take such a righteous public stance about the abuse of human rights in Saudi Arabia while itself perpetuating human rights abuses against indigenous people in Canada. In 2016, finally deciding on a complaint submitted in 2007, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ruled that “Ottawa discriminated against First Nation children by underfunding child welfare services on reserve and by failing to provide health care services on par with the rest of the country” Rather than increasing funding in response to this finding, “{t}he Trudeau Liberals have spent at least $707,000 fighting the tribunal’s order…”https://bit.ly/2tDekCL It makes one wish the Government would put its money where its mouth is…
