I struggled this Thanksgiving… exhausted from having spent the past year caring for my father who died in August. Feeling discouraged that little seemed to have changed for our indigenous people despite “truth and reconciliation”. So I had to really look for what I could be thankful for…and like you I was able to find reason to feel gratitude.

I recently heard a definition of hope that made me see it in a whole different light. Hope is a verb, with the sleeves rolled up. Yup, my sleeves are rolled up, I’m in the struggle for the long haul., as are so many others.

In these difficult times, I am also grateful for community that will speak out against injustice. We have started a little protest at our MPP’s office. This month will be focused on Ford’s threat to repeal Bill 148.
