I provide a wide range of professional services to community organizations, lawyers and others working on the issue of violence against women and the law. Please see below for my legal consultation, training, research and speaking services.
Please note: I am not able to respond to individual requests for help. For support in your community, see this list of resources.
Legal consultation services
I offer innovative legal consultation services to Ontario violence against women organizations.
For an annual retainer fee of $1,500.00 plus HST, I provide organizations with ongoing legal consultation on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:
- Organizational governance (including policies and procedures)
- Human resources
- Shelter standards implementation and accountability
- Funder reporting and other requirements
- Board development and management
- Staff training and development
- Systemic advocacy
- Legal issues arising for your organization’s clients
This retainer will provide you with 8 hours of legal consultation throughout the year, April 1 to March 31, to be used when and as you need it. Consultations can be by telephone, email or, geography permitting, in person.
We will work with a formal, signed agreement setting out the terms of our arrangement. I will maintain a docket of time used and provide you with semi-annual reports so you can assess the time you are using. If there is time left over at the end of the year, you can carry it forward. If you have gone over the 8 hours, I will provide you with an invoice for the difference.

Looking forward to our ongoing work together!
“Pamela and I have had just such a consultation arrangement for a few years. As an ED, there are times when I need to consult about legal or policy based issues, and having Pam available through phone or email has been a fantastic resource for me. Having access to a lawyer with a true, grounded VAW perspective as I negotiate through some of this space is invaluable!”

- Domestic violence and the law
I can work with you to develop a ½ or full-day training to suit your organization’s needs.

I have a great deal of experience as a keynote speaker, workshop presenter and panelist at community agency AGMs, seminars, symposiums and conferences.
My speaking fee begins at $750 (plus HST and travel costs) and rises from there, depending on the topic you want me to speak about, the scope of the event (e.g. local vs. national), the size of the audience and other details.
Because I am in high demand as an event speaker, please contact my administrative assistant 6 – 9 months before your event.
